When the chips were sent to the Military Club (Club Militar / Circulo Militar) it appears to have been located at Camp Columbia (Campo Colombia). Camp Columbia was built by the US military in the 1890's. When the US left Cuba in 1909 it became the HQ for the Cuban Military. The club was apparently a social club for military personnel, an officers club. Camp Columbia was located west of Havana in the area known as Marianao. It was near the Oriental Park race track, the Havana Country Club, Gran Casino and Marinao Beach (Playa de Marianao) where several clubs were located including the Havana Yacht Club. |

Below note "Campo de Aviacion"--that was where Camp Columbia was located. There was an airport at the Camp. Lindbergh landed there in 1928 and they had a reception for him at the Military Club. |

Below is an interior pic of the Military Club. The guy in the suit playing chess is Jose Raul Capablaca, a world champion chess player from Cuba who died in 1942 (so the pic predates that). He's putting on a "simultaneous exhibition"--playing many people at the same time (several people in military uniforms playing and spectators). |
