Joseph Oberfelder was born at
Council Bluffs, Iowa around 1872. His family moved to Omaha,
NE when he was a kid and then to Chicago in the 1890's, where it
appears he lived the remainder of his life.
At the time the chips were ordered
his residence was 5012 Woodlawn Ave. (living with his widowed sister
Mae Spiegel's family--of Spiegel's, the mail order catalog).
He doesn't appear to have ever married. Mae Spiegel's grandson
Arthur H. Spiegel, III is still alive (age 70 as of 3/2010).
