The
chip was owned by Bertram H. Borden, the owner of the yacht "Alida".
At the time of the 1922 chip order Bertram Harold Borden’s
primary address was a large estate located at 66A West River
Road in Rumson, New Jersey. The 54 year old was the heir
of a large fortune and a business created by his father: the
American Printing Company in Fall River, Massachusetts--at one
time the largest cloth printing company in the world (as well as
its selling agent company M. C. D. Borden & Sons of New York
City). Bertram’s primary business address was New York City,
where he also maintained a residence. He was a cousin of ax
murderer Lizzie Borden of Fall River. |
